CRAZY WEEK, I AM SAFE! 1/23/17

Hey everyone,

So I am so bad at writing in my journal but I promise I will do better so I can better tell you about my week.

Monday- So for P-day we went and emailed at brother Fosters house. He is super cool, is a flight surgeon for the Navy. He is super funny but after we got done emailing at his house we all got in the car and drove to Orange beach and hung out on the beach. We played volleyball, soccer, football and Frisbee. We had a blast, then we just watched some surfers catch some waves. Ya know shred some nar hahhah Then when we were throwing the football around I was running and then I see what looks to be a huge flat rock in the sand. Nope, not a rock it was a jelly fish. So that was pretty interesting to see. After we went back home. Elder Gaither cut my hair so I get my hair cut at barber shop gaither lol Then we had a few appointments after 6 and that was about it.

Tuesday- MOM BEFORE YOU READ ABOUT TUESDAY JUST KNOW I AM SAFE.
With that being said, on Tuesday we had our regular district meeting and then I went on a trade off with Elder Burningham and then his companion went with my companion back up to perdido. SO I stayed in Pensacola with Elder Burningham, We go back to his apartment then have some lunch and then we went out to go teach and do some tracting. So the first area we go to isn't the best of areas but we get out of the car and like every person I saw I was just teaching them about The Book of Mormon and then would teach them the restoration and set up some return appointments. So it was super awesome! We taught this one lady the restoration and recited the first vision and it was so powerful. The spirit was so strong and she said she felt the warmth and got Goosebumps. So we set a return appointment with her and it was awesome! Now we go to another area because this lady requested a bible, so we were just on our way to deliver it to her. So we slow down and are looking for her address, when we see this guy and he waved at us and so we were going slow enough that we rolled down our window and said hello. The first thing that everyone asks is " are yall jahova witnesses?" No, we are from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He says "oh yall are Mormons." Yes sir and we would love to share a message with you! Can we pull over and share a message with you? He was like sure! Long story short we pull over and start to talk to him, then we realize that this is starting to turn into a bible bash. He asked us if we are elders and we said yes and then he starts getting all crazy and showing us a picture of this big African American guy on his phone. The guy was in like a car with like a big coat on and chains and on the side of the car it said like Grand Marshall. So hes is like do you know who this is and we are like no?... He starts yelling and sayin yall aint real elders yall all false and he is all up in our face. Eyes as wide as can be yelling about how we aren't real. So if you can imagine a Baptist preacher that's what this guy was doing. He was yelling and preaching and I just didn't say much except for just simply sharing my testimony to him of Jesus Christ. He then asks Elder Burningham and I if we would die for Christ and we were both like yes, We would die for our savior. Then he pulls out a knife and starts saying a bunch of stuff and is like oh now does it change. And we were just saying like hey man we don't want any trouble. After a few minutes with the knife being out and preaching, I am just like sir put the knife away. SO he finally does and then he starts going all crazy about trump and about police and some other stuff. So in these situations all you can do is listen to these people and try your best to find away to leave. He then brings out the knife again and comes up to with it. I am just standing there with my hands in my pocket. He like grabs my arm and is like trying to get me to hold the knife. I tell him sir don't touch, please back away from me. The guy finally leaves me alone and I was so done with this guy I just told we have stuff to do and then told elder burningham to get in the car. SO we get in the car and we finally get to leave. We then drive away, pull over and we are both like the spirit is so gone we need to say a prayer. I am telling yall I have never had the spirit be so far away from me. I then offer this prayer and I just prayed for that guy that he may just have peace and that he may be able to find the truth in what we said. But for some reason during that situation I knew that I was protected. And I truly know that the savior was with me. I love this work. I love that guy that pulled a knife on us I just wish he would listen to us. But this work is so true!

Nothing really happened the rest of the week. Except We were OYMing aka opening your mouth, which is just you walking around anyone you see you just talk to. So we met this lady and taught a powerful restoration lesson and had a return appointment and then set a Baptismal date with her! This week was pretty awesome though! I have a cool story to tell about a knife being pulled on us hhahahha Don't worry mom I am A OKAY and I know its because of yalls prayers that I am safe.   Anyways so hopefully this next few months we will have like 4 baptism.

I love all of yall! And I am so thankful for this church, and the opportunity I have to share this gospel with other families. Thank you for all the support from my family and friends and the WARD! I love getting letters and cards from you all! I hope the ward is doing great, I truly miss everyone in my ward family!

Well until next episode of Perdido! (Perdido means lost in Spanish) hahahha

B- Rad is here!!! 1/16/17

So this week has been really good. We have a lot of progressing investigators so it is awesome! We had two FAMs that are investigating come to church yesterday! The work is going great!  I have received a lot of love from home so thank y'all so much it really means a lot to me!

We are so excited to go to the NAS museum at the Navy base here in perdido. We have a military ward so its awesome to hear all the cool stories! Brother Monks is going to take us into some simulator jets and fly them so we are excited for that! The ward is helping a lot with missionary work so its super great!

The Bishop here was trying to get us to be able to access all the ward info like names and numbers so it will be easier for us to contact members. so he put me in a calling here in the perdido ward and now i think my records might be transferred to the perdido ward.. so thats cool hahha hopefully he will get that all fixed.

Not a lot happened this week other than some missionary work. The experiences here by just doing the lords work is awesome. SO any girl or boy who is thinking about serving a mission, Trust me it is sooooo worth it and yes it can be challenging sometimes but it is worth it because more blessings come then the challenges do. So don't think you aren't capable of serving a mission because honestly if i can do it you can too! Hahahahha.

I Love all of y'all! I can't wait to see y'all again but until then its time to go help all the lost sheep come unto our savior. The field is white and ready to harvest. Also just know that this work wouldn't be possible unless it was for the members of the ward! Seriously invite all the people you can to read the Book of Mormon. Ask the missionaries to Role Play with you on how to give one out. We have done it with a few members and now we have some people investigating. In October 2013 general conference talk I believe that President Thomas S. Monson stated that it is time for missionaries and members to work together. If we work together the lords work will double! I found that to be so awesome and I didn't realize that until i came out on my mission.

I love y'all, Stay safe! B-rad is out!

HEY FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!! 1/9/17

hey
everyone! So this week has been interesting. Missionary work has been going great! We had to drop a BCD ( Baptism & Confirmation Date) which was kind of sad but they just were not progressing. Not much really happened this week. It  has been just a little crazy. I have been a little homesick but I just keep myself busy. I am finding my self get more and more lost in the Lords work and it is so awesome to see the Atonement change other people. I have seen miracles already.

On Last Monday we had a tornado warning. The sirens in town were going off and I think yall saw the videos. It was a crazy day. Elder Christensen and I had an appointment with someone so we went out in the storm to go visit this family and this lady that we went to go visit answered the door and was like, "Yall are crazy being out here! Do you not hear the sirens?" We were just like we know how important this message is and how it could help your family. She didn't let us in cause she wanted us to go home and be safe but it was worth a shot hhaha

We have had many just little miracles that you just really recognize on a mission. But we didn't have a lot happen this week but next week will be better!

We are teaching this 9 year old boy who is soo excited to get baptized! He is awesome! He is like the most spiritual little boy ever haha it is awesome! Surprisingly I have met a lot of people who have lived in vegas or who have family in vegas. I love this ward in Perdido! BUT just a shoutout to my Silverstone Ward, Yall are so awesome! I tell my companion about all yall and hes like dang you have a sick ward. Im like yeah I know! hahah

This sunday was awesome we are teaching this guy who is a member but his girlfriend isn't. The spirit was so strong in the lesson it was awesome!! His parents where we had the lesson at has like a million dollar home right on the beach so it was soo awesome to see the beautiful view!!
That's it for this week yall! I love you all!! Have a great and amazing week!!

THE CHURCH IS TRUE, THIS IS THE LORDS WORK! :)

Happy New Year! 1/2/17

Happy New Year Yall! Yes I know I have already picked up saying yall hahaha its just used so much down here. A lot of people use fixin and wrecken hahah its so funny. Hey everyone i technically only have 1 year left ;) haha just kidding. So this week was good we taught a log of lessons and we met this family that is soooooo prepared! So im praying that we will be able to baptize this family in February! Sister Halzy is her name. They are awesome, Elder Christensen and I helped set up her sons new basketball hoop so they loved that. We also just met a less active last night and her grandson wants to be baptized so we set a baptismal date for march 12th! So hopefully with in the next 3 months we will be able to humbily bring 5 or 6 people to the water of batism. :) Its been awesome but some days are pretty hard. There are always those people who will just be really rude when you try to share a message... in a nice way they just dont seem to be having a good day hahha. Its okay though its been a good week it flys by so fast! Like I cant believe I am already like 7 weeks into my mission. I know thats not a lot but I feel like I was just saying goodbye to yall.

Good News! I got my tooth fixed I look exactly like I used to hahah. Not a lot has been going on this week. Just being able to see the lords hand in his work is crazy! We have had a lot of times where we were supposed to be in this spot at this exact moment. I love studying the scriptures and being able to compare the bible and book of mormon to the people who are die hard bible and nothing else. The work is going good and we have such an amazing ward mission leader he is so active  with the work! Dont worry mom and dad im getting fed every wednesday by brother fulkerson the ward mission leader and every sunday sister harrison is feeding us. She said that she is gonna make some gator for us next week so looking forward to that haha. So everyone in our ward is military so brother monk is a fighter pilot. He pilots some F-18s and F-16s, so he is going to get us on base and do some flight simulators! Hopefully we can do that next P-day or the follwing P-day.

Anyways thats all that has been going on in my life, I love yall! Email me I would love to hear from you all! I hope yall will have a great year! There is no doubt that we will all go through trials this 2017 year. We will always be faced with opposition. It is up to us if we will let our trials conquer us or if we will hold strong and know that our heavenly father can help us through anything! Remember our savior has gone through every pain and suffering and sorrw that we will ever face what we have faced or even what is to come. I love all of you so much! Make this the best year yet! YEEE YEEEE

B-Rad is in the house! 12/26/16

Merry Christmas Yall and a Happy New Year!! So this week has been crazy! I went on a trade of with another missionary in Navarre it was so much fun we had like 13 missionaries in one apartment haha. 3 of them were over like 250 pounds lol big boys haha. Anyways so we had a big mission conference it was so much fun! We all had to come up with a skit and it was hilarious I was in tears! Then I got to see some of Melissa's companions aka Sister Kinghorn. I am standing in the hall at this mission conference and I see her but I wasn't sure so I looked away. Then all of a sudden I hear a big scream... BRADLEE!!! Sister kinghorn like screamed my name and then she was like oops I mean Elder Graham! haha it was really funny, yet awkward because I remember meeting her over skype when we would skype Melissa for Christmas haha. But all I get here is everyone coming up to me and telling me how good of a missionary Melissa is. I'm look cool no pressure haha.

This Christmas away from home wasn't as bad until Christmas eve when I got out of bed at night and went to go pick something up off the floor at night in the dark, and then my mouth hits something. Now I'm in pain and I feel my teeth with my tongue... I just broke my tooth.. on a chair, I was so frustrated! So yall just know I'm just trying to embrace the culture! hahaha. No I'm going to go get it fixed tomorrow so don't worry haha. My family on Christmas sent me a lot of love and I am so grateful for them! Thank you for everyone who sent me a Christmas card or who is sending me a package! They mean so much! My Christmas morning was awesome besides the chipped tooth, our investigator or what we call a (gator), she got baptized Christmas morning! She came a long way! She used to smoke 2 packs a day she is about 70 years old but she used the atonement and grew her faith in our savior and read the book of Mormon! She is so awesome!! I was able to speak at her baptism and be a witness and after the baptism when she came up out of the water she said "I feel free". The spirit was so strong! My niece kambree Graham just got baptized on Christmas Eve so I couldn't stop thinking about this amazing opportunity I have had this weekend to feel the love and the spirit so strongly during this Christmas time!

My companion and I get along so well. We are both sarcastic so it works out haha. He is a great trainer and the work in our area is going great!

I love all of yall so much! I pray my family, ward family back home, and friends. I think about all of yall so much! I miss seeing all the acai squad! Anyways I love yall! Have an amazing week and New Years, stay safe and keep the savior close to your heart always!

Love, Elder Graham
